“NWBL: S8 - Bourbon Cup Round #2

Very poor game from the Blitzkrieg, who have gone on end of season party mode.

Outplayed by a superior coach in Gobes, and we were never really in the hunt for victory, even with Nuffle's blessing.

First loss for the team, it does sting, but we will have to get used to the feeling going forwards against this calibre of superior coach.


Learnings

1. RE ROLLS

We used a re roll on a non failed 2DB, searching for the push or better. It ends up double skulls.

This is maybe the bigger mistake we made this game, and one not to be repeated. Learn from it.


2. BLOCKS

We allowed an unacceptable 82 blocks, resulting in mass casualty and KO of the orcs.

We could not make a dent in the Norse to keep things even, and played down players for the vast majority of the game.

Maybe on par with the 1st learning- biggest mistake was allowing ourselves to be out-blocked and bashed off the pitch. Poor play, punished.


3. BOX

Last play of game. Stupid play. We double mark a player within score threat, but allow for easy box shape creation.

Opened the door for the 20% play, which comes off, final nail in our coffin.


Summary

Blitzkrieg will be sore after this one. Thoroughly spanked and outplayed. We will have to improve before next season. ”
