“I knew going into this it was a bad matchup for me, one of the few bad match ups for dwarves because theyre out strengthed in addition to added guard.
I received and scored pretty quick, like turn 4 or 5. I was okay with the score because I had a wizard. I cant just cage up or screen till the end because hes bigger than me. Maybe a better coach couldve figured that out.
AGAIN, like third or fourth game in a row, not allowed to remove anything until very late when it doesnt matter. Of 13 injury rolls, 4 were 8 or higher and 2-3 of those removals were the last turns when it really didnt matter.
I had some contingencies but they all failed so Im not too unhappy with the second half. I saved the wizard, he gave me an opening and missed the BC. I made an opening for the BC to get blotzed and the dwarf failed a rush into getting hurt. Apparently I can remove myself just fine.
The star runner attempted a single die blitz and got a push after some impressive dodge rolls. But coming up short when it matters most.
I dont know what Ill do next time in this kind of matchup. I cant really bully my way around. And when the removal well is dry, what do you do? I hit that stupid DP skeleton repeatedly and it never went away.
Maybe I should column next time instead of trying to mix it up and stack the guard against the mummies? But then, am I just opting for a slower failed defense? I dunno.
This one stings, but good job Java. Well played. ”
