“I thought it was an interesting game. Both of us were very aggressive throughout.
First half, opp received. He created a screen at the top of the LOS. This was after he single die skulled for his first block, and I quad dbl BDd on my first block with a RR. Im still thinking back to that RR. The ball was close enough for me to pissibly get on it and with everyone else tagged from a defensive change kickoff that I got, I couold have started the fight for the ball early in his field. BUT maybe that's wishful thinking, couldve just taken the bad block and basically said this game starts 1 turn ahead.
Using some of the str 4 pieces to bully I was able to get past the screen and sit next to the ball. I think I sacked the ball 3 or 4 times in the first half. Opp recovered most of those times except for the last. I just kept making the elves make more dodges and sometimes this works. In this case it did.
Second half, I had more players so I instigated tagging and bullying as I started with a thick screen and eventually turned it into a cage. Opp tagged throughout. We exchanged removing players but I eventually got the upper hand there.
I liked the tagging with the elves, even when down players. It forced me to roll dice and youre looking for me to epic fail at that point. A few cage dives were attempted which makes sense. They just didnt pan out.
I like that I could always recover in the second half to a cage except for my very last turn. I know I positioned to remove some delfs but managed only to give me BC some assistants instead of a protected cage. This was the mistake I caught for myself - sometimes I get blood drunk.
As for dice, I had the upper hand here.
This is the first game in a long line of games lately where skulls dont account for 26% or higher of my die rolls.
Fairly even spread for everything else - delves rolled a lot of 3s which for them and dodging/picking up is ok for the most part.
Out block attempts were about even, and inj roll (amounts) were about even too. This makes sense. Delves dont all have dodge, but the pieces hes leading blocks with have block so on those blocks its same odds as if both were unskilled to get my player down. I have 1 block pieces I led some blitzes with, but all unskilled aside form that.
Delf 2 plus dodges are on the low end, the other failure as an average make sense. I only attempted 8 dodges with zons, this was definitely a scrum kind of match.
Good game as always. If you havent joined gridirons champions league you probably should. Draft some cool players. ”
