So I sat down for round 2. I really cconcentrated on this game too.

I was pretty happy with the first half. I used the wings set up to force some 1 dies and put his players in weird/tagged positions. Out strengthing him here is why I did this, that and if he scores early because I give him the wins, I dont care.

I avoided a lot of tendencies Ive been working on - like just fouling because I have a lot of assists vs a high value target and it paid off. I chose the pig as my foul attempt late because I didnt want the pickme up to allow him to get his players near me.

I found a good way to peel the ball. I avoided the RR on the first faield block on the carrier. After scrumming a few times and just putting my bigger guys next to the ball, I was able to scoop it. I used most of the other team to just keep the valk AWAY from everything.

This is about the extent of doing well. Everything fell apart in the second half. I received and had a thicker screen. I think I failed an early block and let it go, cant remember. But thing with screens is youre good for 2 turns before you need to start rolling dice. After another failed he tagged 3 players on me. I filled the hole in that scrum and had a nice 2 die blitz to get the carrier free. I had a RR pocketed in case the rush went wrong or the ensuing block or possibly needed dodge. AND, snake on the blitz.

Next turn, I had a punt attempt because everything else was on the ground or in a bad spot. Dodged out and snake again on the ball pick up.

This game just SENSES when im on the verge of a good win, and hands me garbage. I know it really doesnt. But man it feel good to type it, even if I dont mean it.

Opp scored and received in OT - already bad news. I set up with zone because I DO care about the score now. 3 AV breaks in the first turn (1 KO - although when I put the linos up there I expect at least 1 to go).

An early KO on a str 4 pieces started to spell doom. But I had some ideas even with 9 players I think I had? However, turns 3 and 4 ended instantly when I tried to blitz with 2 die in my favor - repeated BD/SKULL. Being down a LOT of players, I had a nice blitz into a 1-die on the ball carrier. But, more players removed - at 88 blocks this something thats expected - all these blocks are coming during desperation.

Opp basically just waited for my dice to flub and tagged me, which makes sense when you have the block AND youre not taking ANY attrition. Ive started to learn that while I dont tag needlessly, theres times when you just wanna base and watch the opp have to roll something. Its kind of why I dont start with a cage anymore.

I really thought I could carry this team to another win. I made a few choices I liked, but those important die rolls did not pan out. The initial snakes killed everything. Absolutely disappointed.

But I guess at the same time, this is an unskilled khorne team with 2 RRs versus norse that are pretty packed to start out with. There is something to be said about the match-up not being in my favor as well.

Opp played great - probably gonna steal some of that tagging from him when he attacked the carrier in the second half. Well done, good luck.
