Funny game, certainly a game of two halves, but the 2nd half went VERY wrong for us.
Where can we improve?
1) NO BLITZ
We chose not to blitz into side of chevron defence on opening turn.
We did not want to be pulled out of position, but it is better to take the space and the additional block on offer.
As a result, space was taken away from us, and big pressure in the form of double/triple basing came.
2) SAFETY
T3 of 2nd half is where it all went wrong. We had 6 turns to score back to make it a 2-1 win.
A deep kick to end zone is 1/9 pick up failed, and spits back out into range of a dodging, rushing, undead ghoul who picks it up.
We then attempt to frenzy blitz with wolf, having recently heard that frenzy is statistically better at taking down blodgers.
However, it would have been safer to block with the wraith, and sandwich the ghoul with 3 players to make the dodge out tough.
This is maybe the biggest mistake of game.
3) PULL BACK
T5 we should have pulled our ghouls back to protect the (2nd) deep kick into endzone.
As a result, we had a vanilla wolf isolated, ripe for blitzing by a blodge ghoul (66% chance it works).
SUMMARY
I suppose we were very unlucky in 2nd half, but we could have been a bit tidier, and there was great pressure from schoolyb to capitalise.
Not a bad game, but could clean it up some.
