“A very hard-fought game against a coach who knows well how to use his team. Nearly a tie, and perhaps it should have been. Our defense was shoddy in the first half (too many risks, not enough players to cover the field) and his POWs were plentiful but we managed to squeak out a win :-)

“My opponent is a little generous with his praise of my gaming skill. Sure, I stopped a couple of his advances and forced him to backtrack and regroup, but he then just came from a different direction and scored. Very tough team to stop cold for more than a turn or two. A mistake or two might have cost me a potential tying score, and a perfect defense at the end of the first half definitely cost me a scoring opportunity as he was able to get away from my chain-block-advance party. So I guess it could've gone either way, but in a game of nearly even teams and two coaches strategizing the heck out of the situation, there's no room for errors, even the one or two small ones which normally aren't a problem. I made them; he didn't; he won. A rematch is in the works, though...”
