“We Knew it would happen. We even put it off in previous games. But, in a hard match we knew we had to risk it. Only one point away from his next skill roll, Gimli had taken a back seat in the last few games, wary of that niggling injury that would effectively signal the end of his career. How right we all were. Two niggles now, and he may well have played his last game for the club.
In a fantastic performance, Gimli scored 2 TD's in a match dominated by the Stilletto Troll Slayer Kal-Nur. We tried hard to put him out of the game, even killing him in the first half only to be revived; but 3 casualties spell out the story of the game. That and the 2 fantastic TD's by our lightning Runner. Down to only 8 Dwarves as the game drew to a close, Gimli resisted the blitz as Arlecchino attempted to knock him into the crowd. Maxon ran to the Runner's aid and stunned the attacker, and Gimli was able to run in unhindered for the score and the win.

Galrung could have been saved but, with the illegal weapon on the pitch we decided not to risk it. We will miss him next game, and probably Gimli too.

Player of the game: Gamil Zirak got two casualties, including the death on Kal-Nur, but Gimli put thoughts of his future behind him to inspire us to the win.”
