Another game where Nuffle turned away from the Cthulhu Spawn. The only thing that kept the game a tie was that the Crusaders managed to infect the Maroons by the end of the game, with a Turn 16 dropped ball ensuring the tie. I honestly felt bad for Toonie - he played a good game, and deserved the win, especially given my luck. Those Cthulhu fans that showed up despite the games bad press coverage seemed to enjoy the game, but when the Maroons fans started getting cheeky at halftime, the Cthulhu faithful responded by starting a pitched 5-turn battle that held up the game significantly, allowing the tired linespawn some time to recover with some healthy fan-stomping. The weather was pissy throughout - pouring rain and cold, just like my last major exercise - Nothing like running behind a tank soaked to the bone in the rain, and then having some armoured whistlehead (officer) who is totally dry tell you how you sucked during the AAR.

MVP for the match was He who Should not be Named, who had a journeyman performance of not getting knocked over, and generally plugging up the pitch. The true star was Shub-Niggurath II, who managed to save a bungled catch by Shoggoth and then run the ball in for a TD. She also managed a nice completion in the dying moments. This brings me to the Blitzers. Shoggoth and The Fungi from Yuggoth played the two worst games of their careers. Shoggoth especially managed to drop a pass, miss three consecutive leaps (burning rerolls like mad), not make a single POW, and double-fumble a pass that could have led to the winning TD, but instead almost led to the loss. Fungi made all kinds of no blocks, and even managed to fail his Dauntless roll twice in a row. All kinds of suck, in other words.

Income was finally good, and this allows me to pick up my third blitzer, Nyarlathotep II. I am hoping that he can live up to the awe-inspiring performances of his predecessor. Soon we will see the great Tsathoggua return as well. My immediate goal, however, is to win a game, something I have not done in a while.

Toonie was great to play yet again, and if not for the riot and some poor luck woth the ball I suspect he would have pulled this one off. I look forward to playing him again.

Nuffle continues to frown upon the Eldritch Masters of Time and Space, which, as Eldritch Masters of Time and Space, the team feels they don't have to put up with. Rumours abound of a group so daring that they repudiate Nuffle entirely... Maybe it is time to join the... NBA!!!!!
