“Three little letters...TTM and GFI. I was unable to stop him from scoring on the opening kickoff, so we lined up again. Heat has sapped 5 of his players and two of mine, so it looks like we should be able to get the equalizer touchdown fairly easily. A thrown stone ko's one of my blitzers (who never wakes up all game long), but we still outnumber him. But my catcher (thrower's resting from the heat) fumbles the pickup, giving the enemy a shot. So his troll picks up the gobbo at his side, chucks him as far as possible, landing accurately on his feet. He then races in, plucks the ball up from my feet, strides through multiple tz's and sprints two gfi's to paydirt.

Grr!!

Next kickoff, he now outnumbers me thanks to the blasted heat (in fact, he never again suffered any heat exhaustion, whereas I was always short players). First block I throw, double-skulls, rr's are used, his turn. Again, the troll accurately throws the gobbo far enough forward to land on his feet, sprint forward, grab the ball, race through multiple tz's and gfi twice to paydirt.

*shocked silence* He's now scored three td's in three turns using an orc team. A second thrown stone has layed low one of my catchers, and to start the second half off, a riot reduces my come-back time to 5 turns. Still outnumbered due to the heat; even worse when he bh's one of my blitzers; and the only desperation play I can attempt is to gfi twice to handoff to a guy closer to the endzone, hoping he'll toss it in from long bomb range. But, of course, the gfi fails. I didn't succeed at a single gfi all game; he never failed one. Ended up spelling the difference in the game.

Rather an embarrassing loss, and one which I will want to avenge down the road!”
