“The bad news: somebody scored upon us. The good news: that's the only bad news to tell.
For the first time in Locksmith history, a team has managed to score against us. (OK, we've only had 5 games before now, but I still thought it was a good streak.) What's more, it was a beastman, unskilled, throwing the ball over my short little dwarven heads to another unskilled beastman, in two tz's, who caught the ball, dodged away, and gfi twice to the endzone. Well that fired the team up, as we then made our way downfield to score "quickly"--isn't 4 turns for dwarves fast? We then stopped his scoring effort, and proceeded to use up the entire second half to score the game winner, denying him the opportunity to score again upon us. It's not that we stalled overtly--I wanted also for a certain dwarf to score for his skill, but he kept dropping the handoff--but it ensured our unbeaten streak shall continue, if not the shutout streak.
We caught a lucky break in that both his nigglers failed to report for the game, but unlucky in that his "unlucky" troll was moving and POW'ing left and right, failing only once his RS roll all game. Guess he was anxious to prove to his coach he can contribute, as he also broke Dalzor's ribs and ko'd a large number of dwarves (thick skull never worked for me this game). But our numbers were too much for his short-handed chaos to handle.
Good game, wish you luck with the team down the road! The fans liked the game, got another double on a skill roll, life is good for the Locksmiths. Tally-ho!”
