“Probably the most exciting match I ever played on fumbbl.
The Bloodhorns recieved and a bloody fight errupted around the Line of Scrimmage. The right hook failed due to serious resistance offered by the High Elves and our carrier repositioned into the center where we had the upper hand. Despite multiple supportings from other beastman our ball carrier was blitzed, knocked down and the ball scattered right into the arms of a waiting Lion Warrior. Caught off balance the Bloodhorns could not do much except to continue the carnage and hoping for a lucky turnover by the Elves which, surprisingly, did not occur.
The Coneheads scored in the last play of the first half, denying us any chance to score an equalizer before halftime.
Second half started with the Coneheads recieving and they quickly brought a number of their players into the backfield of the Bloodhorns.
Outnumbered and alone they were quickly surrounded by our beastman and knocked to the ground by exceptional blocking performance and the Bloodhorns managed to retrieve the ball just one square before their endzone. With a blitz the Coneheads got into possession once again and scored in the fourth play despite serious resistance from our players.
Four plays before the end we were behind 0 : 2, obviously a hopeless situation. Against a depleted Elf squat we scored a consolidation TD in the 6th play, leaving the Elves to recieve.
Their thrower got the ball, but a failed dodge leads to a turnover giving us the opportunity to blitz him in the backfield while continuing wreaking havoc and carnage in the midfield. Their Thrower was consequently knocked down and the ball scatter right beside our brave Blitzer Harry Hummer who was just to exhausted to pick it up. In return, the Elves blitzed him but could knock him from his feet, but they surrounded the ball with no less then three players but being unable to pick it up.
In the last play it was all or nothing. A well placed blitz by Manfred Maniac, who was blocked free in the midfield, knocked the Lion Warrior down in the square with the ball, which scattered out of the Elves' tackle zones. Harry Hammer dodged out and made it into the Endzone, while Willy Oneeye sprinted down from the midfield, picked up the ball despite much complaining from a surrounding Elf guarding it, dodged out of his TZ and made the TD pass to Harry Hammer.
Never, ever, give up until the final whistle is blown.”
