“He received. His thrower was threatened in turn 3 by a wight and a ghoul and tried a quick pass but fumbled. So in turn 4 I could blitz the thrower away (and down) from the ball. Then the blitzing ghoul picked it up and rushed away. Far far away from the teeming mass of greenskins.
I stalled a turn because 3 turns is plenty to score, even for Orcs but two is harsh. An almost impossible task for a non-elf really unless you are extremely lucky. He wasn't lucky. 1-0 with me receiving in 2nd half.
My drive started nicely with an Orc lino being badly hurt, earning my mummy a skill in the process. Then I left a hole in my wall of undead flesh surrounding the ghoul with the ball. (still don't know how I could be so stupid really) But it worked out fine (thanks Nuffle) because I managed to KO the orc blitzer next to the ball- carrier. A turn later I scored 2-0. Four turns left for damage control really because not many beginning orc teams can score twice in 4 turns.
In his drive I managed to get a ghoul next to his thrower (with ball), he could blitz the ghoul down but his ball-carrier was not fully secured after that turn and i managed to get 4 (!) players next to him after. (with a successful blitz and a dodge)
Disaster struck for him. An early turnover meant I could block the ball-carrier and my second attempt knocked the Orc Blitzer down. A zombie was sticky enough (you don't want to know I guess) for the ball to cling to him. He skulled his blitz on my zombie and in my turn I could hand-off the ball to my wight whom rushed forward and quick-passed it to a waiting ghoul. (not even burning a RR!)
Lucky?
Sure. Damn lucky. But loving every minute of it. ;D
The only (slightly) disappointing thing was my killed zombie not regenerating. But that's a minor thing really.
Skill-less zombies are hardly a big loss.
