“Thing looked pretty good in the first half as we scored our first touchdown and the skavens scored their. No surprise so far, but then we failed to pick up the ball and one of the skavens performed a miracle move as he dodged away from the LOS and reached the ball. He then picked it up and managed to send it off into our left courner landing in the endzone. We managed to get to the ball and work it back into our midst in the center of the field. We moved our players forward so we were withing reach of the endzone in case we would manage to get the ball to our runners. But unfortunately we failed the pickup but the ball was fairly well protected as it was in 2 TZ . Then the skavens perform another amazing move. It was a team effort, because it required some blocks to move our players, a blitz, alot of dodges. But in the end 'Strike of Fate' could dodge in, pick up the ball , dodge away and send a pass into our endzone where a skaven was waiting.
With 1-2 after half time things did not look good for us especially considering the skavens were hurting our players more then we hurt them. And that included us playing dirty and fouling some of their players. Both teams were a bit short on players. The Unkept Vermins started the second half with a failure as far as their offense went. They did not protect their ballcarrier and we were able to send him into the ground and we also ended up with the ball in our possession. Although that was shortlived as their ratogre sent our ballcarrier into the ground and the ball flew out from the pitch. The ball was thrown onto the pitch again, although it was in favor for the vermins and they could recover the ball. Strike of Fate got the ball and made a run for it. We had the chance to intercept him but our beastman fell over on the going for it and injuried himself. Luckily the apotechary could mend the injury but we were unable to stop the gutter runner from scoring.
During our drive we once again failed to pick up the ball but luckily that did not cause disaster to our plans. We were still able to score with ease, albeit one turn later then we would have liked. We knew time was short, only two turns remained and we would have to move our players forward and hope to intercept the ball. As it turned out the skavens fumbled not only one pass but two attempts and that was all we needed. We blitzed their unlucky wannabe thrower out of the way and Babau could pick up the ball and score our third touchdown in the 16th turn.
In the first half it looked like we would win the game, but as events played out we felt very lucky to be able to make this game a tie in the end. It was a good game that really kept us on our toes the whole time.”
