“A good match all round with Dig Dug inflicting a few injuries early on, and then using the numerical advantage to bully the King's Guard around the pitch. We started well, pushing up the left flank, and put ourselves into a good scoring position midway through the first half. Horan decided that he would stall a turn or so and, with any opposition in range tied down, it looked like a sound plan. A 4+dodge by a Longbeard put that idea out the window, and the ball scattered out and down the pitch. We collected the ball again, but a failed hand-off (with re-roll!) in turn 8 prevented us from opening the scoring.

2nd half, and the King's Guard boxed up on the right side and, after being squeezed up to the side line, managed a few clever blocks that put them 2 squares from the line. Only a dodge and 4 GFI's with a blitz on the ball carrier saved our clean sheet, and the scatter was very helpful for us too. With the opposition caught off balance, and with many of them in attacking positions, Horan ran the full length of the pitch to score in the last turn of the game and give us a win that we probably deserved, but tried hard to throw away.

The King's Guard are only a young team by Dig Dug's standards, but they are a well organised crew who look to be shaping up well.
