Score one for the Yanks and one against Commish Mully's putative powers of prognostication.

Taking a page from the Commish's book, we had Eddie take care of some 'business' in the Cartoonettes water cooler before the match and two of the ladies seemed to take ill and were intermittently unable to play.

The Cartoonettes took to the field in their best lingerie in an flagrant attempt to distract us but, while Frank and the boys do appreciate fine lingerie, they managed to stay on focus and save the trading of fashion secrets for after the match. The Werewolves were particularly effective, slicing through the ladies' armor like it wasn't there (which it practically wasn't). Magenta scored the only real casualty of the game, fracturing the skull of linewoman Smurfan, but those magnificent claws kept the KO box full and aided in the accomplishment of what has become the base team strategy: "Victory through attrition".

The Cartoonettes received first and, though their progress was slowed, they seemed likely to score until a misstep by a Catcher ended the ladies' turn early and opened up the ball carrier to a crowd push by Magenta which relocated the ball to the center of the field and allowed the deadites to get ahold of it. After a brief tussle in the center of the field, the deadites were able to clear the Zons off the ball, enabling Riff Raff to grab it and run in a touchdown in the closing moments of the first half.

All of the Cartoonettes KOs returned for the half, though the deadites soon refilled the box. Both of the ladies affected by the tainted water cooler sat out the first drive. Former President Nixon managed to pick up the ball without mishap and carried it a good way downfield before remembering that he can't go through a game without screwing something up and tripped dodging out of a tackle zone. Luckily the Amazon blitzer who tried to pick up the ball was similarly klutzy and the deadites were able to reassert control. Columbia grabbed the ball and headed for the end zone but was brought down by a dodgy blitzer. The Criminologist proved that Tricky Dick isn't the only Ghoul who can bobble a ball, followed by Riff Raff, before Columbia finally managed to pick it up again and scoot into the end zone.

At this point the crowd had apparently seen enough to know they had seen too much and decided to take matters into their own hands and storm the field, effectively ending the game. It appears that we will not meet our goal of reaching a fan factor of 1 by the end of the crossover games but we rest comfortably in the knowledge that there are certain constants in the universe and our fan factor has still not increased.
