The Squeakers were at a disadvantage at the start of the game when their Star Player Kwikkwik failed to take the pitch for the 3rd time in the last 8 matches due to a niggling injury. The Hawks despite having 5 players with niggling injuries only failed to field one.
The Squeakers started disasterously, with a dropped catch in the backfield leading to a turnover and then a quick score to the Hawks.
The Squeakers then played defensively, caging the ball and advancing it behind a screen of players. The Hawks did not give up however, playing strong defence until the Squeakers set up the side stepping Dragon Warrior Rohurt Dragonwing to be pushed out of bounds. At the end of the first half, the scores were 1-1 but the Hawks were down to only 9 players.
The Hawks on the opening drive of the second quarter scored very quickly despite having their ball carrier flattened (having an AG 6 Lion Warrior who can dodge through anything and pick up the ball in 3 tackle zones helps!).
The Squeakers then scored a reply halfway through the second period, despite being blitzed by the Hawks.
With the game on the line, the Squeakers managed to steal the ball and run it back in defence whilst they looked for openings downfield. Eventually one came and they scored the decider.

What a tough game! Despite my opponent only having 9 and then 7? on the pitch, he had a Strength 4 Lion Warrior and an AG 6 Lion Warrior that were always threatening to score or steal the ball off me. I could only blitz one a turn, and if I failed to injure, they could just get up and blitz or run elsewhere.
A very tough match that I eventually won due to having more numbers on the pitch and more rerolls.
Well played by my opponent.”
