“This match was a bit frustrating, so I'm going to vent by writing about it:
MadMarx challenged my orcs with his dark elves, and it was a fair matchup. He had slight strength advantage (164 vs 155), but I had higher team rating (167 vs 152), so he got a handicap. No problem, since most of them are useless, right? Well, he rolled running late, and both of my black orc blockers and my lineorc with kick were out. That left me at a disadvantage (11 vs 8) right away, plus I lost the coin toss and had to kick, and could not place it without my kicker. :(
Halfway into the first half, I am making no progress, and the Dark Elf team is taking advantage of the situation to gain some extra spps with a little passing game (a good idea, I think!). :) BUT, in the process, they kill my block/tackle lineorc (Hydrocephalus), and wouldn't you know it but the apoth fails. Apothecaries suck my toes. :/
Shortly thereafter, my ag4 lineorc rolls double 1's on a dodge and BH himself.
The first half ended with my luck at 39 vs Dark Elf at 69, and I was losing 1-0. I was also down 2 players now, so the 2nd half began 11 vs 9 in Dark Elf favor.
Suffice to say, the second half went similarly, although I had one good turn in there (made a few dodges and a pass, I believe) which raised my luck from the mid-30's to the mid-40's.
The Dark Elf fans were not pleased with the thorough arse-kicking, and many left disgruntled. I'm pretty sure they were the fans who came expecting the Dark Elf team to get beaten up, kind of like fans who watch car races for the crashes. You don't want those fans anyway, right?
Anyway, MadMarx played very well and is quite a worthy and honorable opponent (despite the presence of a dirty player on his team, he did not foul once, even though it could have made the match even easier). I'll look you up for a rematch once my orcs learn how to play a bit better!

EDIT: Despite the poor performance, I was able to manage a couple of skill rolls. One was for my thrower, who just aged on double 1's and acquired a niggling injury, on his second skill. If more people played in DX, we wouldn't have this little problem... (hint, hint!) :)”
