“Another stunning victory by the Ashtowns Villains.
The poor Skaven never new what was hitting them, as their Rat Ogre was surrounded and their Thrower blitzed constantly. The first half was a very close one which saw any inch of the pitch being hard fought for. Despite their best effords, the Reborn Rats could not prevent any TD by the Villains and only scored once in their offensive drives, consequently leading to a 3 : 1TD advantage for the Dark Elfs, before the whistle was blown.
The Villains recieved in the second half, which soon turned out to be a devastating one for the Reborn Rats. Their Stormvermin was hit hard enough to miss the next game after a well placed block by Ethan Asurbane, only to be treated by the apo. Just one block later one of their Lineman was hit Cirgoth Brimonzog and killed just after their apo had returned to the Dug Out. Despite that loss, the Rats fought on and pressed our Thrower hard who dumped off as a Stormvermin looking for revange came blitzing down on him. A Gutter Runner blocked Soriot Githelef with support just before the Endzone, but was SIed in the process. In the end, the Reborn Rats couldn't prevent another TD for the Villains, who prepared to kick off once again.
Things got from bad to worse, as a Blitz caught the Ratmen on the wrong feet and the fifth TD for the Villains was scored after another Skaven was killed.
Another kick-off and the Rats thrower moved just one square to far backfield and was blitzed again, while the Villains managed to move downfield and scored for the sixth time in the last play of the second half.
Obviously, the Villains celebrated their victory just a few seconds to early, a quick snap enabled a Gutter Runner to move downfield to score relatively unopposed to score a consolidation TD for the final result of 6 : 2.

I have hardly seen such a bad luck on the armor and injury rolls as in that game. It was not much of a blocking contest really as both coaches tried to minimise the risk of unnecessary turnovers. Those few block threwn by me where just the critical once to score and larrysw was extremly unfortunate on armor and injury rolls ( just one KOed and the rest were the seriois injuries and the two dead players ).
Kudos to larrysw who took the pounding like a seasoned coach and really put up a hard fight even while fighting an uphill battle.
