#2 The Will of the World – Smashed Knee (NI) #3 The Fast Sword – Dead (RIP) #8 Copper – Broken Neck (-AG)
“After much grumbling in Pure Thoughts seating area over the fact that Screener would not come out to play proclaiming "They are out to get me, I swear!" the proud players of the elf-team took to the field once more. The CD troll was slow to get onto the pitch and spent the first few minute blankly looking straight ahead of him. Suddenly there was a flash of momvemt behind the foul beasts eyes and he jumped with fury upon The Fast Sword and crushed him beneath big foul-smelling feet, the apoth could barely save him and The Fast Sword felt his number was up and told the apoth to send word to his family so that they may remeber him properly before stumbling out onto the pitch once more. His feeling was right as soon after a vicious block from a CD sent him sprawling, as the dust settled The Fast Sword was no more. Early game action also saw Zink getting a hard tackle resulting in broken ribs.
The elves tried desperatly to hold their own, no longer a game but a fight for survival. They were hardpressed throughout the first half and though they almost managed to contain an outbreak attempt by the Hobgoblin Laglop he slipped through thier lines and scored the first TD of the game. Valiantly The Will of the World sacrificed himself as he lauched himself upon Laglops bodyguard but that foul beast struck him down in a most cowardly fashion and as the elf was carried off the pitch, it was unclear if he'd ever play again...
Having regained some wind and well needed rest the elves made a fast play and managed to even the score before half time.
The second half saw the classic dwarf-box advancing upon the elves and even though the elves fought valiantly the Hobgoblin Slurppa scored the second TD for the Hellbringers. The elves then had a fair shot of making the game end in a draw but Gold fumbled as he tried to catch the ball and the game ended in another loss for the now broken elf team...
-- A bit too many cas overall (have myself to blame for Will of the world) put a bit of a dampener on my mood but the game saw some really good plays and if only that stupid elf had caught that ball in the end, things might have one different.. as it stands.. next time malthor.. next time.. =)”
