“Rather a boring game I'm sure for my opponent, as my luck in the cas dice kept him at no more than half strength for much of the game. However, until late 2nd half blocking was the only luck I had. Time after time I was missing simple 2+ passes/catches, 3+ pickups, 2+ dodges...and time after time he was getting 1d block POW's. At least 2/3 of the time, his 1d blocks worked, and on the two occasions he threw a 2d MY pick, I'm the one who got knocked over. Even though I was removing his guys from the pitch left and right first half, I was unable to score. Pathetic.
Second half, his wolf stays ko, and I have no intention of scoring early to let him wake up and hammer me. Of course, I might not have any choice in the matter, if my first half luck continues...which it did, the first three turns. But then I was finally able to get a couple dodges, a couple hits, and most importantly, a pickup/pass/catch combo which allowed me to get the ball away from his players. I admit, I stalled shamefully for 3 or 4 turns, more for fear of his wolf waking up than of stopping him from scoring. I figured I could stop him--but if he kept those 1d POW's going, who knows the damage a frenzy/claw wolf could ravage upon my elves! So I stalled, boring win, but a win nevertheless, and one where all my players are back again next game.”
