“The first game of the glorious Red Starz took place against the frail Softskins, a wood elf team. At first the 'Starz were caught by surprise because they had expected much whining and cries for mercy but not actually fouls from a wood elf team.
In fact they Softskins managed to occupy the ref this way almost permanently so the 'Starz saw no reason why they should actually step back when others had so much fun. After a while the odds were evened again and Blitzer Lighning managed to score a touchdown just before half-time.
The second half-time was more like what the 'Starz had anticipated. They managed to injure two of the vile elves immediately after kick-off in a furious hand-to-hand combat. The elvish coach was so taken aback that he started to whine and plead for his team. After some consideration the orkish trainer had mercy for a creature so weak and commanded his proud warriors to refrain from any aggression against the wood elves.
Confused by such an unusual change of tactics the ork team tried to score a touch-down leaving the elvish team behind. To their dismay they could only watch the elvish team which they had spared furiously attack and foul the goblins who had stayed back to take over the defense.
Furious over such a treachery the ork team could do little less then score their second touchdown. Gork and Mork despise such betrayal though and the goblins miraculously managed to survive.
To add insult to injury the orkish trainer managed to observe the elvish trainer, probably hurt by the miserable performance of his team, spread lies to the assembled press about alleged foul play by the Red Starz.
The weary trainer of the 'Starz only replied to the inquiring journalists: "I will not deny the use of force. What did these elves expect when they were facing us? After all this is Bloodbowl and not softball, thank Mork. What i would like to know though, how did we manage to foul them elves all the time without having the ref send every last one of my players off the field?"”
