“The Guardians were again cursed with horrific injuries but almost managed to pull of a last second victory despite shocking misfortune in the first half.

The Eigenheim started in possession and managed to pull off a very difficult TD to take the lead, but not before killing a Line Elf with the second block of the game.

On the next kick off, the Eigenheim blitzed, and killed a second Line Elf as they advanced and won the ball. The Guardians recovered the ball briefly, then failed the simplest of dodges (with a reroll of course) to drop it again. The Eighenheim were not able to take the ball very far due to the defence of the Guardians, and lost the ball momentarily, until some poor blocking by the Guardians (2 double skulls rolls out of 3 blocks) let the Eigenheim score a second TD. (I also did not roll a single Pow unit near the end of turn 4 so it was a very unenjoyable game at that point).

With little time left in the opening period (2 turns), the Guardians finally managed to put together a string of plays to score their first TD just before the siren.

In the second half, the Guardians started in offence, and being down to 10 players, they played a conservative game by caging the ball until they were ready to explode into offence. The Eigenheim were unable to win the ball, and the Guardians scored an easy TD about 2 thirds of the way into the second period, despite suffering their fourth serious injury or worse from the match.

The Guardian fans were sick of the treatment their players were getting and took mattes into their own hands by storming the pitch and injuring 6 Eigenheim players! 3 were stunned, 2 knocked out, and 1 was badly hurt. The Guardians then pressured the Eigenheim and won possession of the ball with only seconds left in the game, but fumbled a simple pass to win the game.

This team is definately cursed. Look at this:

Cas Diff: 0 (6/2/3 - 0/8/3)

Every casualty has been MNG or worse, and usually in the first or second turn of the game so the Apoth gets used up. 2 out of the 3 draws for this team were games where I was cursed by Skulls and 1s. To be Blitzed, to then fail 2+ dodge with reroll, then get 2 double skulls out of 3 rolls made it almost impossible for me to win the game. It was only the pitch invasion in the second half that gave me a chance, but the good old roll or 1 screwed that ;)

This team is getting the chop any day now so I can try and change my casualty luck LOL
