“The game was marred by some slight refereeing problems, led to Coach Lo voluntarily passing up a td chance, so as to make the game smoothen out.
In any case, this was not a typical orcs and dwarves game, with both sides trying hard to switch the flank on the opposition, and actually attempting to pass the ball. Black Orc Blocker Zig in particular impressed the fans with his end of second half run towards the final line, trying to angle in on passes from Ripper Jack and Crimson Fist but somehow always managing to drop the ball. F- for catching, but A+ for effort, and so he won the MVP.
Casualties were very low, testament to the effectiveness of the league commissioners' new security devices which screened out many sharp objects (not all of them small) about the players' bodies. In the end, there was nothing that the Apothecary couldn't heal (though Haesslich WAS heard complaining about being hit by some dwarf where the sun don't shine.. Must have used his head!) and the most serious injuries were a wave of knock outs right at the end.. Whether this was due to the players' efforts or the strength of the Bloodweiser served at half-time is still dubious. . Icesicle was seen to flop down onto the ground with not a single Orc near him!”
