“A botched pass late first half allowed him to steal the ball away, and with a caravan of vamps cage it downfield for a 2-1 lead, receiving second half. Things didn't look good, til we started to get a few things going our way. First and foremost, he started to fail his OFAB rolls regularly, which made targeting his thralls a viable tactic. Not once did he lose a vamp/turnover due to OFAB, but he did have to shift his strategy considerably to keep his ever-dwindling thralls nearby. Then it happened--a lucky POW to his blodging vamp, ko, I recover the ball. He fails his Hypnotic Gaze, then his dodge to blitz, and I'm able to advance the ball the other way. In the meantime, I crowdpush one vamp and he MNG's another vamp from a failed dodge, so by the time I score and ko's are rolled for next drive, he has only 2 vamps and 5 thralls (I think) vs 11 ladies. Looking good, right?

Not when his vamps for the rest of the game refuse to fail another OFAB roll, make all their dodges/gfi's/handoffs, and there's just not a blessed thing I can. Nary a tackle on either team, but he got the POW's to my blodgers left and right--I got that one, and never again, and his sidestepping/blodger/str 4 vamp just refused to go down, nor even could I move him where I wanted, despite mad gfi's to try to corrall him. Then his agi 5 vamp took the handoff, dodged/ran like crazy for the winning score as time ran out. It was unreal, and nothing I could do to stop it.

Good game, pity my ff went down, and my thrower aged a niggle on the second skill. But I also got +agi on that same thrower, doubles on a blitzer and +str on a catcher, with no injuries to speak of, so we'll call it good.”
