“ The first half we recieved and to be fair it was quite an elegantly constructed little TD. We flooded lineman into his backfield and worked into the corner. The Orcs overcommited their defense, didn't have numbers on the lineman in the middle or pressure on the thrower... I hit the short pass and the lineman is away! With 3 turns to even it up they got stuck on the sideline thanks to some pestering rat defense. 1-0 halftime.
2nd half was indeed a bit of hard luck for the greenskins. BUT students of the game will see that the lessons are thus...keep trying, worry the ball and keep players free and just MAYBE luck will win out. The Orcs never got their cage right. There was always a corner open (even if it only afforded a 2d AGAINST block) You can't give it up...cause sure enough my Storm Vermin made the block and put the ball on the ground. This was enough. The Orcs used up their re-rolls trying to bash..and when it came time to get the ball they had no back up or sure hands. As for the 2TZ passes...it was just a couple of cheeky plays really. End of first half my thrower (with Accurate) "punts" the ball into empty backfield...only needed a 3+ to make the throw (as a misthrow didn't matter for my purposes) and on T8 second half a Vermin picked up in 2TZ and threw to a lineman right beside him. The pass was actually fumbled but the scatter fell in to his hands. Lucky indeed! But of no consequence to the game at all.
But I do feel for the 4 fumbled pick-ups...that was harsh.
Fun game really...and a good reminder to KEEP TRYING. Yes we made some dodges..some 1d blocks and had some clever match-ups (and got lucky with the armour rolls against us) but that is how this game is played ;-)”
