#15 Zog – Smashed Knee (NI)
A great game sports fans. A tight win of 1-0 for the Scions, although it probably should have been 1-1 if not for some stupid calls by the Stoopid's coach. I guess we know where they got their name from folks.

Early in the first half, the crowd was shocked when Zog was denied apothecary treatment. When asked after the game, the Stoopid's coach said "he's just a worthless lineman, and he was on the chopping block anyway once we get the cash to hire some more blitzers. Besides, linemen aren't even covered by our insurance plan." Zog had only one comment: "OW!"

Dreams were crushed at the end of the first half when a black orc lost the ball four spaces away from a TD on turn 8 to a 1D block. Clearly disappointed, he had no comment at the end of the game and was last seen running in the direction of the nearest bar. As a consolation, he received the MVP award for the game.

The second half was characterized by lots of blocks and not much ball movement. An error by the Stoopid's allowed a Scions Centaur to knock the ball out of the ball carrier's hands in the middle of the half, and it stayed on the ground for most of the rest of the game.

I've never played in a match with such a low score and yet be so tensely contested right til the end! I blundered around with the game opening kickoff, but eventually was able to punch it into the endzone. In return, a perfect defense forced him to nerf all his plans and throw to a black orc, who made it to within 4 spaces before I was able to catch him, stopping the score as time expired with a quite lucky 3+ dodge/2 gfi support/2 gfi/1d blitz, skull/pow, down he goes, touchdown saved.

Second half is a pusharound struggle, trying desperately to get the right players in the right position to get those crucial block assists. I was able to tie up one of his BOB's away from the action, making it a very even matchup of 2 bull/2 BOB, hobgob/linemen, dwarf/blitzers. I MIGHT have had a chance at another score had not three of my hobgobs been ko'd/crowdpushed, but then the same could be said for the other way "if only". Wonderful game, highly enjoyable!

Pity is my hobgob, now the most advanced spp-wise on the team, aged a niggle on his first skill, making him a coach despite his +agi. It's getting pretty expensive having to constantly replace players--two new in three games, yet still have only 11 players--but hey, we're still winning. :-) No wonder I have such a heck of a time playing against CD's...in three games I've been outcas'd, out ko'd, and still have won all three. Kinda scary, actually...
