“Well, this was Hodo's first match on FUMBBL and first game of BB since the early third edition days, I believe. Nonetheless, I have to say I was impressed.
There was a lot of little stuff to remember. The blocking dice are the most important, obviously, but you got that cleared up, I think. Assists and getting into blocking position and moving your offense forward will come soon. That's not nearly as important as the stuff you got right, however.
I was really pleasantly surprised by how quickly you got back into the order of your actions. By the end of the game, you were playing out your entire turns... no turnovers. That was really quite impressive. Normally people who are just beginning will continually stumble early in their turns and cause a lot of turnovers. You actually listened when I mentioned it! And remembered it! Unpossible!
Also, general play strategy was pretty good. Some brushing up on things and a little better memory of your particular players (ie: which ones have block and which can move however far, for example) and you'll be up and running. As it was, you did have a very good sense of flow... no better way to describe it, but while I felt that you needed some forward momentum in your drives, you were throwing players right over to exactly the area that was open and available to you. A very good sense of where to set up pockets and which general direction to run a drive. That's one of those vague things that's really hard to impress upon people, too. Well done on that as well.
And finally, welcome to FUMBBL and thanks for the game. Always good to commiserate with a Browns fan. :)”
