“TrekBlood's team certainly lived up to its name. The first half was atrociously unlucky for the Stars and I was fortunate enough to roll pretty well and take advantage of it. One of his wardancers failed 5 consecutive leaps. That's a 3+ and some TRRs burnt to try to salvage his turn, for you keeping track at home. 2 Blitzes in my favor were really the nail in the coffin.
The second half saw the Tree showing up. Fortunately for me, his nice shiny new Pro skill didn't do him much good. Double Skulls at least once (failed pro) and a few other unlucky breaks (pro worked, but blew the roll anyway) made him largely a non-issue.
Trek played a good game, and made a good run in the second half, but the 3 point deficit racked up in the first half was just too much to overcome. There was a lot of fumbling around for the ball in the pouring rain as well, making the game a good mix of high-flying elvish action and dirty scuffling for a 3+ without a RR. Made for an exciting match, at least.
Thanks go out to Trek again, for being a model opponent.
ps. Kahlua finally got to the big 125 SPPs. Imagine my surprise when he not only avoided aging, but rolled a double 6 for skill! Looks like he doesn't want to be put out to pasture just yet, and with the increased survivability of 4 STR, he won't need to be protected quite as carefully. Nice!”
