“An excited crowd of Bloodbowl fans turned up to witness the maiden match between these two sides hoping to see two teams trying to make a name for themselves.
The game started in disaster for coach Sleeter when Hes fumbled his pickup in the opening seconds.
A bloody fight ensued in which coach Squig's team forced a clear advantage.
Hes then tried to make up for his butter fingers, gathering up the ball and rushing forward to snap a pass off to the teams catcher. The bad luck compounded and Hes failed his pass, watching in horror as the ball bounced away from his fingers.
Beat The Meat continued with their offensive, steamrollering their way through Getting Ready for This' lines while coach Sleeter watched with mounting dismay.
The fights raged as the living fell to the undead in all areas of the pitch before the weak defence finally caved allowing the fiends through to take possession of the ball.
Coach Squig didn't have chance to capitalise on this, however, as the ref blew time.
The second half saw more of the same as the zombie's and skeleton's stomped all over their living counterparts, forcing a hole through which the ball carrier could easily walk to the line.
It all seemed lost for the humans, the undead were a turn away from scoring in the dying seconds of the match. Then, it happened. Out of nowhere, Hes steamed in, stole the ball and powered it down field to Griff, who caught it and took flight towards the end zone, no thought in his head except scoring.
He was clear! The zombies marking him were not fast enough to catch him and there was no one else in a position to stop the inevitable.
The enraged coach Squig screamed out, "Make them PAY!" and his squad used the seconds before Griff trotted over the line to make his team mates pay for the victory in pain and blood.
The final whistle blew time with coach Sleeter jubilant with his teams first game result.”
