#1 Redlance – Smashed Knee (NI)
Another fun and eventful match against altin's Blitzkrieg, for the first time in ages the Wolfriders actually fielded eleven players, but that bliss was alas to be short lived when Redlance was seriously injured by the Blitzkrieger's new shock tactics. A quick TD followed when Rayek failed on a GFI just as he was about to block altin's star thrower, Hans Hawkeye, who then quickly delivered an accurate pass.
Things looked even grimmer for the Wolfriders when Eric Mitgard managed to steal the ball from Strongbow before the Wolfriders finally got their nerves under control and miraculously scored.
By this time the Wolfriders fans were so agitated that there were no stopping them from invading the pitch, leaving 3 KO'd and three stunned Blitzkrieger's behind them, and in the mess that followed hardly anyone paid attention as the Wolfriders in a lightning move grabbed the ball and scored again, leaving the score at 2-1 at half-time.
In the second half the Wolfriders took advantage of the Blitzkrieger's still KO'd star players, and rapidly scored twice more before Wing became overconfident and actually gave the ball away to the Blitzkrieger he was trying to dodge past, allowing them to reduce.
The final goal could just as well have gone to altin's Blitzkrieg, but after Eric Mitgard failed to bring down Strongbow and steal the ball, the Wolfriders could score again by a textbook TD, as usual carrying the ball across most of the field and making the score 5-2.

Good game altin, just bad luck about that pitch invasion which really decided this game...

You would think that the Blitzkrieg would have been satisfied with pulling out an improbable draw the last time they met the Wolfriders on the Bloodbowl pitch. You would think they'd never challenge this formidable woof elf team with an Orge, Blitzer and back-up thrower sitting out the next game. And you would, of course, be completely wrong.

The game started in high style, the teams trading quick touchdowns in the first half. Then, as the Blitzkrieg were recieving for the second time, the Wolfrider fans -- still bitter, no doubt, about that humiliating draw -- invaded the pitch and brutalised the human players. The Wolfriders took advantage and managed to quickly score, leaving no time for the human team to return the favour.

In the second half, things went from bad to worse, then from worse to bloody terrible as stars Hans Hawkeye and Morgan Mann took an extended trip to the ko box, cripling the Blitzkrieg offense and not doing their defense any favours. The marvelously coached elves rolled over the undermanned humans and pulled off several fantastic passing plays on the way to a 4-1 advantage. The Blitzkrieg managed to salvage some pride for their fans, however, by pulling off an improbable touchdown (after a near-turnover to the elves) with a hapless lineman actually throwing the ball to a waiting catcher. The elves, being elves, countered with a final 2-turn touchdown in the closing moments for the final score.

Indur was, as always, a laugh to play against and the Blitzkrieg will definitely be back for a rematch -- we'll beat those pesky elves at their own game yet!
