“Truly, this was a bizarre game, as the CAS column shows. No, Muldvarpen wasn't going easy on me, and no, I wasn't pulling some kung-fu-flying-tiger-crouching-rat magical dodge action outta my butt, he hit me plenty.
Only... the rats... they didn't break...?
I was down to 1 man standing at one point, and yet he still couldn't break armor. An occasional stun or KO, but that was it. 4 mummies - 1 with PO - and he still couldn't break the Rox. I just can't get over it.
Also, 2 blitzes helped my cause immesurably. I was rolling pretty well with linerats dodging away, but not spectacular (66% chance and I made most of them. Not a big surprise). The first half ended with a kind of funny series of 1s. First I get a Runner 2 spaces away from the endzone and have to GFI on turn 7. First step, 1. TRR. 1. Next comes Muldvarpen's turn 8. Stand someone up and throw a 2 die block. Double skulls. Out of rerolls. Finally, it's back to my turn 8 and I get another runner (the first was Stunned) within reach. All I have to do on turn 8 is make one pickup. Out of RRs, but just one lousy 2+ roll... it's a sure thing, right...? Wrong. For those of you counting at home, if you count Skulls as Ones, that's 5 consecutive 1's or a 1 / 7776 chance.
Ended the half 2-0.
The second half went to the Painkillers in spite of the starting with my second Blitz. I almost had another score, but Muldvarpen's defense was just too tight (despite being 2 men down). He managed to sprint his Thro-Ra in on turn 8 for the final score.
Good game, Muldvarpen. Thanks a lot for the match.”
