“A highly skilled Wood Elf team is scary no matter what the other team has. The ability to score almost at will magnifies any mistake by their opponents. So I had to take away their ability to score...which meant removing players from the field. Not a tactic I usually use, as my Dirty Player is generally reserved for protecting the stars from abuse, but in this case he figured more tactically into the gameplan. hehe
He scored in 2 turns (surprise!) and the ensuing kickoff result was Get the Ref! Needless to say this pretty much sealed the Wood Elves' fate. Even having Deeproot on the field couldn't make up for the bodies flying into the injury box every turn. I managed to niggle his GOOD Wardancer (the other was a rookie) and was saddened to see him apothed...knowing that I HAD to foul him. A Wardancer with tackle is a pest. So he was summarily fouled and -ST'ed. That was the only permanent injury I think, but a costly one.
BloodyFist was a pretty good sport until near the end of the game. Of course, if I witnessed the dismantling of MY team I probably would have been upset too. ”
