“A bizarre bizarre game!

My opponent scored early, then made it very difficult for me to score. I equaliesed but there were two turns left for my opponent to regain the lead. He pushed forward and had his Catcher holding the ball between two Wardancers (one with Guard).

It was easy to get a two dice blitz on the Catcher and I got a reasonably difficult ball drop. An AG5 Lineman was able to make all the dodges and GFIs to hurl the ball to another player who then ran forwards and handed off to another deep in my opponents territory.

Then came an amazing series of dice rolls by my opponent to steall the ball and score. Firstly he had to do some dodges, and then he managed a one dice Pow (he had to get Pow to get the ball) then lots of dodges, pick up, GFIs etc to get a score! Incredible.

I also had some bad luck, doing a two dice block, getting double skulls and got a serious injury -1 MA on myself!!!

In the second half, I had the superior numbers/players thanks to the early casualties and got a relatively easy score. I then had a blitz and managed to steal the ball and score to take a 3-2 lead.

My opponent did have some moments of great luck (eg he did a blitz with his Wardancer on my Str 4 Thrower and it was two dice I chose, and it came up double pow and he got a RIP!!! Luckily I had the apothecary and the ball drop was very friendly which allowed me to score in the above mentioned blitz.

My opponent lost concentration after the Blitz and his heart was not really in the game as I stole the ball and scored two more times. The last couple of turns was just us both ending turns as the game had taken so long and my wife was getting angry as we were supposed to go to dinner and my opponent was no longer enjoying the game.”
