“The Darkness started in offence, and strangely enough, sent their emerging star Witch Elf Akida LeRoussel not very deep into the Bad Boyz territory by herself. The Boyz blitzed her, and just for good measure, stomped on the back of her head and that was the end of her match!

The Darkness pushed the ball deep, only to have their pass intercepted! The Boyz used their superior numbers to advance the ball back towards the line of scrimmage. Things were looking very bad for the Darkness who were outnumbered 11 to 8 with over half their team lying on the ground. However, a poor pass by the Boyz allowed the Darkness to recover the ball and throw a short pass TD to take the lead.

With just under half of the opening period remaining, the Boyz ran in the equaliser after managing to protect the ball from the fierce Darkness defence.

The second half started with the Boyz fances storming the pitch and killing the ref! The Boyz started with the ball in offence but dropped a pass in the backfield to allow the Darkness to come storming through and steal the ball. The Boyz recovered the ball, only to lose it again.

The Boyz took advantage of the frightened referee to foul a few Darkness players, sending them to the KO bin. Eventually, the Boyz had superior numbers and were able to run the ball all the way from deep in defence to the opposing end zone to seal the match.

A very tough game. If I hadn't gotten the ref in the second half and fouled a few times, I would have struggled to stop him scoring an equaliser. As it was, his fewer numbers were able to pin me in the backfield until I was able to swat them away.

I don't usually foul more than once a game, but with only a rookie Thrower in my team facing very skilled elves (his STR though reported as 3 higher, was misleading, as he has three players with niggling injuries that all turned up), I needed some advantage!

As it was, it might easily have been a draw or a loss despite him only having a few players left as he had some very nice players for such a low STR team.

It was a fun game against a fun opponent, and also my 100th ranked game since the restart :)
