“Well, my first game with bearded stunties as well as my first game in the 3rd season of our Critical Hit league.
I recieved and made my first mistakes in moving my guys (well, at least I think so). Instead of keeping them together to form a solid block of beards and steel, I spread them to move as many of my players in opposing TZ as possible. By turn 3 all my players where locked in combats all over the field, fighting at an disadvantage as the nimble Gutter Runners moved anywhere to give the necessary assist for 2d blocks for my opponent. One failed dodge enabled me to set up a successful WA trap and giving me two turns to redeploy. the double skull and SI on the RO didn't exactly help my opponent either. Stalling the game long enough, that the Skaven could not score the equalizer was essential and thus I take the 1 : 0 lead with me into the bins (Much to the annoyance of my opponent).
Second half started with the Skaven recieving - and a Blitz! for me.
A fumble while picking up the ball put the Skaven further on a disadvantage and, as fast as Dwarfs could, they surrounded the ball with as many players as possible. Another turnover by the Skaven and I finally secured it and made it to score without any notable resistance.
By now the Skavens were outnumbered enough that I tried a forward defence and an abortive dodge by a Stormvermin led to yet another turnover and a quick possession by the Granitcutters. The third and last TD of the game was scored just before the game ended. ”
