“Not the illustrious start the Weasels were hoping for. The first couple of turns were uneventful. The rats minimized the blocks and scrambled around, the undead chased them. So far so predictable.
Their passing options got knocked down, so the Weasels formed a cage and pushed over the LOS in their second turn. And it all went wrong.
The Lost Souls response was to unleash their zombies, who scored three badly hurts and two KOs in their next two turns. The Weasels managed to form a desperate cage around the thrower against the crowd, and get their remaing Gutter Runner to the endzone. A double skulls block stopped the (highly unlikely) pass from being made.
A shorter pass was made next turn, after the Gutter Runner had escaped his markers. But he was unable to run in the score and was blocked unconscious for his audacity.
There was enough time to kick a storm vermin to the KO bin before the Undead walked in a simple try in turn 8.
The Mighty Mighty Weasels began the second half brightly - with six men. This did not last. Peter the Gerbil was quickly dispatched, then resurrected to live on and play another day. As a zombie.
Sprinty John made an excellent suicide sprint, taking out a Lost Souls Ghoul in the process. With the ball loose in their own half . . . the Lost Souls were able to quite easily pick up the ball with one of their other ten players.
Desperate five man defending could not prevent the inevitable, and the Undead were able to walk in another touchdown. The Weasels didn't give up, though their next drive faltered when the Gutter Runners were returned to the KO box, and the Lost Souls scored their third.
One last, desperate attempt by the Ratmen was scuppered when Anghel Baduna was unable to pick up the ball and then Sprinty John failed his dodge.
