“Ulthuan Invitational Grey Lantern Final! Luck readings are out due to a late disconnection (not sure who now) and a reload around turn 7 second half.
The Falcons were lucky to make it this far and had the advantage on paper vs In Jest who had been ravaged by injury in their opening match.
However, Morley's Revenge struck the terrifying Falcons Thrower Valdrek Boodgaze most of the match as well as Witch Elf Cara Bloodlust. That and some other handicaps actually kept the match evenly poised for long periods.
A fortunate blitz by the Falcons allowed them to take a 3-2 lead late in the match. On the next drive In Jest pushed hard down the left wing and fouled one of the Falcons Blitzers and stunning him. The Falcons retaliated with a foul of their own and caused a niggling injury to Catcher Grin who had just been saved from being badly hurt by the apothecary from a blitz from Jenna the Deathdealer (my opponent was trying to win the match so used his Apoth on a BH late in the game).
In Jest fouled Jacques Vainkill again and stunned him once more, but got their player sent off and were suddenly down 2 players. Their Thrower then tripped with the ball on the right wing allowing the Falcons to close the distance and eventually recover the ball to win.
----
It was very late for both of us having waited over 6 hours to commence this game from the start of the tourney. I made some silly mistakes like blitzing with totally the wrong player!
My opponent had some harsh luck failing lots of GFIs and the Blitz sealed it for me when I got good position even though I didn't steal the ball straight away.
I would say that game was won mainly through having better luck rather than really good or bad play by either of us heh. And I had a better team on paper though my heaviest hitter was out most of the game with Morleys.”
