An interesting game and the Mentalists best performance to boot. It started in the usual fashion - the Dwarves rolled a double skull block in their first turn, saved by a reroll. The Mentalists decided to to go one better, and Mad Hettie stunned herself with a twice failed 2+ dodge - the first elven dice rolls.

By turn four all the rerolls were gone.

An error by the Steam Hammers left Bardak Baratan open, and the Har Ganeth were able to block, break and score. The turning point came, however, in the seventh turn.

With Har Ganeth still leading and the Dwarven blitzer, Ungrimm Ironfist, pinned on the wing, Mad Hettie knocked him down with a 2dblock, enough to stop him scoring. Or, she could have, instead she chose a pushback, then used her frenzy skill to kick him into the crowd.

The Hammers apothecary had already been enaged to save a self-inflicted SI, and Ungrimm was killed. The Dwarven manager and fans were understandably outraged. Although allegedly tactical in nature, coach The Mighty Ren was unable to adequately explain how he intended to benefit from the foul move. Instead, he mumbled something about wanting the crowd to toss the ball for a quick run and pass, leaving the assembled journalists at the post match conference bemused.

Despite her naturally malicious nature, even Mad Hettie seemed somewhat ashamed by her actions.

The foul seemed to unsettle the dwarves, and their anger distracted them in the second half. It didn't help that, despite the closeness of the 'rating', luck was clearly against the Hammers for the remainder of the match. The Mentalists were able to add a lucky second, and quite outlandish third touchdown (following some mostly ridiculous and tactically random reroll-less dodging), running out deceptively easy victors.

The game was a lot closer than the score suggests, and although the dark gods clearly approve of evil behaviour, the gratuitous (or tactically inept) crowdpush is unlikely to find favour with the Mentalists again.

Thanks to the four completions, three new skills arrived for the Mentalists. Although hapless Heeb Thistle also managed to age, and now has a niggle. Idiot.
