“Great game between dark and wood elves. Even though the game was played entirely in the rain, the both used a very effective passing attack.
Bregan would score two td's in the first half with no answer by the Scrubs.
In the second half, after some crowd control issues, which stunned Bregans saftey and outside linebacker, Scrubs rookie Wardancer, New Scrub scored easily on turn 10. On the insuing kick off, Rai'gy failed to field the kick, which was recovered by Ain't who scored on turn 12.
On the next drive, New Scrubs young age came to light, after misunderstanding the coach, and covering Kimmuriel, instead of blitzing him. That mistake cost the Scrubs another td.
With time winding down, Woody made an ill-fated block (pow/skull) vs. a "block"ing defender which abruptly ended the turn for the Scrubs. On Bregan next turn, Kimmuriel would knock Ryan Leaf down, deep in his own territory while his teammates all began to surrond the ball to end Bregan's turn. A blitz by Ain't to free up Leaf, allowed him time to get up and get to the ball, and pass it to New Scrub through the outreached hands of two Bregan defenders. New Scrub would run the rest of the way for td to send the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Scrubs came out firing, but New Scrub's lack of experience showed true again after dropping a pass from Leaf. After some bashing by both teams for ball control, Drizzt would hook up with Kimmuirel to score the go ahead touchdown, not quite half-way through overtime.
On the next kickoff, the Scrubs looked ready to score again, but for the third time New Scrub would make a mistake, deciding to try to hide behind Ain't next to the sideline. Bregans executed a well planned crowd push, but didn't expect the fan to have as good of arm as he did. The throw-in landed in the middle of the field next to Woody and Leaf. With the game on the line, Ain't tried to scramble away from defenders for what could be the game tying reception, but a diving tackle by Kimmuriel put Ain't in the training room for the rest of the game. Leaf would try to take matters into his own hands, but the numbers were just to great.
In a post-game interview Scrubs coach Hiway had this to say, "I am damn proud of my guys today. They fought very hard coming back from down two at half, but it was just not meant to be. New Scrub was visibly upset after the game. He blames himself for the loss. That is a pretty big burden for a rookie to take, but hopefully the fans can forgive him. He will get better."
Bregan D'Aerthe United 4, 4 Wood Scrubs 3 in what could be one of the better 4vs.4 games played yet.
