Ignoring some early dice problems (first roll of the game = double skulls, reroll, third roll = 1) and the super-powered Zombie blocking (paper armour results in mass KO's), the Dark Gods seemed pleased with the Mentalists.

1-0 down at the end of the first half, they restarted the match with 6 players (only 2 of their 8 KOs regained consciousness). However, come the second half they had a far healthier ten.

A 2 turn TD was followed by the familiar first roll one, reroll , third roll one. But then the Mummys fumbled the ball and suddenly the Dark Elves were making the 4+ rolls look easy.

A blitz and break made it 2-1 in turn 5, and some good kicking (right in the endzone) followed by well spread positioning and an excellent (and very lucky) interception on a 6 from Malkus Mandae made it 3-1.

The Mentalists (and their armour) then held out for the win, another fumble preventing the Khemri from attempting a 2 turn td.

2-1 would have been a fairer result but, after their last two appearances, the Dark Elves deserved a little luck. The main question is: exactly what do the Mentalists have to do to increase their fan factor? Five wins and only two losses have so far resulted in one plus and two minuses.”
