“A true match of of the titans this was. Two mamoth teams facing each other on a bright and sunny afternoon for a fascinating clash of styles. A lot of people showed up to watch this as the gate was an unprecedented 170.000. A record stat for the Bringers, but probably not for the Junkies.
In an even match, the Junkies managed to grab the lead after some clumsy handling by my ag5 beastman. My tentacles were not making life easy for the elves, and some early casualties had me hoping i could keep matching them in a high scoring game. I quickly retaliated, tying the game at 1 apiece through Proximo my ma8 beastman who at some occasions even surprised the elves with his speed. After a tactical stroke of brilliance by Fischerking, the Junkies looked to be heading to a 2-1 halftime lead were it not for that last going we've all failed before as well :) The second half started sizzling with 2td's in 3 turns. So both teams were level at 2 with 5 turns left in the match and surely, 2 turns later the Junkies took a 3-2 lead after my confused beast Sarron had failed to lock up an open catcher. My guys were determined to strike back fast but again my beast was confused and so the elves managed to pour through my lines and corner my thrower, giving him only 1 way out. He made the run but his pass to Proximo, who stood ready to force the tie, was intercepted and so the elves who were behind my lines had little trouble stalling the game out.
It was a fun game, maybe if my coaching decisions at some point were different I might have gotten more, but it is what it is. Fischerking's just a great coach and a nice guy to play against.
Grats on the win and thx for the game!”
