Luck reading is out due to a first half disconnect when Christer's machine went down.
------------
A very close match that could have gone either way. The Boyz started in offence and proceded to advance the ball strongly upfield in a tight cage. The fur was flying thick and fast as the Boyz proceeded to slap the ratmen all over the pitch. The Shuffle were soon outnumbered badly as they had several players on knocked out and one injured whereas the Boyz were only down one player who had been sent off for an overzealous foul.

The Shuffle numbers started to thin and the Boyz got overconfident as they opened their cage to charged down the ratmen. This turned out to be a mistake as the agile Shuffle blitzed the Boyz ball carrier and knocked the ball loose, then managed to throw the ball downfield to a Gutter Runner!

Luckily for the Boyz, they were able to get enough players back in defence to win back the ball, and try for a difficult long bomb TD late in the first half. This failed giving the Shuffle a difficult chance to score themselves which they failed.

With the scores tied at nil all at half time, things looked desperate for the Shuffle when only one of their five knocked out players recovered for the second half and the ratmen lined up with only 9 against the Boyz 10 players.

A backfield error by the Shuffle then allowed the Boyz to go on the attack, with 3 players running towards the Rat Ogre Skoot to tie him up, whilst others ran towards the ball.

Eventually, the Boyz won the ball and pushed it up field. Despite outnumbering the Shuffle, the Boyz still found it difficult to advance the ball quickly. However, the Shuffle's numbers continued to thin as the Boyz hitting continued to send fur flying everywhere and eventually, the Boyz could safely get the ball home to take the lead.

There was not enough time left in the game for the Shuffle to score, but enough time for the Boyz to kill their Rat Ogre Skoot with a late block. Unfortunately for the Shuffle, their allotment of magical sponges had been used up earlier in the match to stop the death of a linerat.

A tough tough game. I was staring defeat in the face when I foolishly opened up the cage in the first half to try and crush my opponent by flattening what few players he had left. His Gutter Runner was easily able to get an assist on my ball carrier and his Storm Vermin made the dodge to blitz me and knock the ball out. It was very tense as he could have scored on my possession, but the defense held out (and he didn't roll all the 4+s etc that he needed).

In the second half, I trapped his rookie Rat Ogre with enough players to get 2 dice blocks my choice. He survived the first time, but not the next two. This gave me effectively two turns in a row on two occasions which was enough to help me win the ball then get it into relative safety.

It was a very tight game and a draw would have also been a fitting result.
