My opponent got one handicap; the greatest which really hurt me. I had to either not field my (only tackler!) Wight OR the AG4/jump up Wolf.

But his only niggler, a blitzer did not play so I guess that was a major compensation to begin with. Especially since that blitzer would have been a major pain with his blodge and strip ball plus MA8.

He received and scored quite easily in his turn 2 with his bitch elf, earning her a second skill.

With a pang of regret I placed my sure hands/tackle wight on the bench. I wanted the skilled wolf to blitz holes in the delf defense while the other (new) one would score.

At least; that was the plan.
A quick-snap made my life just that bit easier initially but the ball was far from anything safe like a cage. A few delfs surged forward and threatened the new puppy with the ball. I blocked a path and rushed to my left, the ball would be fairly secure after a few more blocks but an early RR was burned and the inevitable doubleskulls occurred. A hole in the defense.

The damn Witch (MVP should have gone to her I am sure) blitzed and knocked the ball-carrier down. I gnashed my teeth in frustration when he sent a receiver down my far right side and started to move his AG5 blitzer. Fortunately enough he failed his gfi into the square with the ball. That ball scattered to my prone wolf (doh) then to end up with the damn witch whom caught it.

Blitzing with a Wolf failed (no tackle!) but left her standing on the edge of the pitch with 2 wolves pressing their hairy furs against her scantily clad body.
(hehe; always wanted to say that)
With another zombie and a wight plus ghoul flooding the area any action would be a great risk. Far from perfect but the best I could do.

She fumbled the ball and my new puppy caught it. (yay!) He blitzed her off the pitch (stun) and ran downfield, protected by the other Wolf. A fair few blocks later and only 2 elves were left standing and a wall of undead flesh protected both wolves from the outnumbered (8 vs 11) elves.

Then I got greedy, I wanted to score a completion with the new wolf in addition to his touchdown. never mind all the safe moves I made and the horde of Undead players surrounding both wolves. All that is to no avail if Nuffle decides to send the pass inaccurate and let the ball end up in the crowd only to be returned to a VERY favourable spot for the delfs. Whom still had that receiver downfield. A delf dodged, picked up the ball, dodged again, did go for it twice but finally that 1 came up. when he tried to pass.

Phew.

I smashed aside the futile resistance, the AG4 wolf scooped up the ball and a long pass later the new puppy had it once again. This time I did not succumb to greed. ;) I scored immediately. He had only 1 turn left anyway.

2nd half I received and once more I left my tackle wight on the bench.
My new puppy badly hurt an elf and they were down to 9 only. The elves did what elves do best; dodge through tackle-zones and end up with 2 players next to both my ball-carrying ghoul and the guard-Wight but that was simply not good enough. The wight pushed the Witch aside and a blitz cleared the ghoul. A cage down my left halfway the pitch was formed.

Nothing much he could do to surge downfield a turn later, even less after a lucky block badly hurt another elf. His Witch tried to force me to score either with the ghoul or attempt (more or less) risky stuff like hand-offs. Badly outnumbering him I b;blitzed with 3D on her and down she went. Stunned but that was good enough. The new puppy walked to a safe part of the pitch and calmly caught the ball. (hand-off, no pass!) That was good enough; first skill to the beast. ;)

Maybe I should have stalled but that would have been dreadfully boring. Plus I had actually some hopes for an even better score. The elves had no RR left and I'd outnumber them with at least 10-11.

One KO did not return so 9 vs 11 it was.

What I had hoped happened; an untimely 1 and the ball was not caught by an elf, scattering to a field where they had only one tackle-zone on the thing. My new puppy grabbed it and had to gfi only once next turn for a sure touchdown.

IF the Delf blitz on him with -2D failed that was. He did not even get that far; failed his gfi. New puppy did not. 3-1.

Great game in which the luckiest won.

edit; some typo's
