“The Skaven Amazing Races New Division Group A challenge gets off to a flying start (that really is a mouthfull).
Ok, that's an exaggeration; largely, the rats were able to sit back and watch the vampires self-destruct. Our opening td, a two-turner, was well crafted, but after that it was all down to the vamps, as we tracked them all the way up the park, and their ofab (which didn't hit all that hard in the first half) and the sheer unreliability of blocking with a rookie team undid their chances of an equaliser.
An early turnover td in the second half, the gutter runners storming an unfortunate thrall left holding the ball when the vampires self-downed again, made it very hard for the vamps to get back. It soon got worse, as the vampire Mwah Ha Ha died on a dodge... To their credit they got the breathrough, a failed gfi on an sv blitz clearing a vamp to run it home. They had no time for a second though, and few players left too. The skaven got their little bit of bad luck at the end, a failed catch denying them their third.
Overall it's tough to say how well we did here, as we had the luxury of playing a self-destructive team. It's brave of jagophile to bring them to the tournament, and good luck to him. For me, I'm just happy with three points :)”
