“Opponent summed it up pretty well. Luck was definitely on the side of the orcs this game. It was humorous watching 2 agility dwarves make 4,5 and 6+ dodges though, even as I was cursing I was enjoying the circus. A messy but good game none the less. Perhaps a rematch sometime.”
“This game wasn't even funny. You hate to get into an even grudge-match game with an equally skilled coach and have your team take a dive. Mine did, in a BIG way. His team was tough enough...he didn't need the luck.
My super Slayer got busted on turn 1 or 2, then the stand firm Blitzer next turn...then the OTHER Slayer (who I had given the +AV Rune) BH's himself on his own hit....THEN his dirty fouls out MY dirty. All in the space of about 5 turns. At this point I knew it wasn't meant to be.
But strangely enough, it seemed that I just could not fail a dodge! No matter who it was. I repeatedly broke loose DEEP into his backfield using Blitzers, Longbeards, whatever. Twice I had the ball 2 or 3 squares from his endzone but due to lack of a reroll didn't GFI to get even closer. (I've had some insanely brutal luck with GFIs lately) Each time he managed to get to me with a blitz on his last MA and......stun my ballcarrier. Just a knockdown would have let me score at least once. But by the time the dope stood back up the ball was halfway back down the field.
Actually, it was a relatively competitive game until turn 12 or so. Then it was green avalanche. Whole damned team has mighty blow, so there were some sturdy Longbeards taking extended breaks on the ground. Thankfully Diarmuid isn't vicious or his dirty coulda done some permanent damage.
Good game, D. ”
