“Good luck to begin with, but how it all went wrong. Smess completely outplayed me in the first half, scoring in turn 8 to make it 1-0. As the second half began my own stupidity (don't take a phone call and play at the same time) resulted in a crucial misclick. I survived that, but my next roll was snake eyes.
Snake eyes at key moments cursed me thereafter, although I easily deserved to go 2-0 down. The temporary collapse of fumbbl meant numerous restarts, and though we replayed to make sure Smess got his TD, he only had 5-10 mins so I didn't make him restart when key agility maestro Dr. Thranst re-failed his recovery from the KO box.
Wouldn't have mattered anyway. My chances to pull one back drifted away when the kick-off table gave him perfect defense and though I managed to snatch the 2+ pick-up, I immediately rolled myself snake eyes on an easy dodge, leaving my ball-carrier woefully threatened by his newly massed defence.
They blitzed him, crushing my front line in the process. With no elves standing I was forced to attempt a series of increasingly suicidal super-dodging, GFI'd -2dblocks which, unsurprisingly, completely failed to win me the ball back.
The Mentalists were comprehensively outplayed and - finally getiing some pay back from the last few matches - the Dark Gods decided poor play should not be rewarded with good luck.”
