“Rua'Brar's Eagles wins again!

The Eagles won an exciting yet sloppy match today against The Bloodfist Clan. The first half was poorly played on both sides of the ball by both teams in what can only be surmised as a "strange" series of plays. The Eagles quickly jumped out to a 1-0 lead on the opening drive. The Clan had a chance to tie it up on thier drive but some sloppy ball handling ended thier chance. The Ealges jumped on the opportunity to double up thier lead only to fall flat on thier faces, literally, with bad dodging and poor tackling.

At the end of the first half it remained, Eagles 1 - 0 Bloodfist Clan.

The 2nd half opened with the Eagles blitz! Eagles Wardancer Ael'Thir layed a great block to open the floodgates for the rest of his teammates to surround the ball as it spiraled down after the kick. Ael'Thir was able to catch the ball as it came down and perform another outstanding blitz followed by some fancy footwork to double the Ealges lead only moments into the second half.

Outraged, the Bloodfist clan retaliated on the next kick first by having thier fans severely beat upon the ref! A blitz by Bloodfist Ognac Goran sent Rua'Lys to the sidelines badly hurt, while Broth Umberchucka smashed Gil'Vain into unconsciousness. The Eagles did manage to stall the Clan drive momentarily with some opportunistic blocking but to no avail. After WD Ael'Thir was tripped up on a dodge while trying to go after the ball. Famed cheapshot artist Lil Snotter saw his chance. With no ref, snotter gave the downed Ael'Thir a severe kicking to the yarbols! stunning him. Ouch! Does that have to hurt or what? As the sidelines opened up Bloodclan blitzer The Wraith headed for the endzone. To add insult to injury Lil Snotter took yet another!!!! cheapshot at downed Wardancer Ael'Thir. Fortunately, without assistance this time the foul was little more than an annoyance, but an annoyance that Ealges lineman Ther'lat wasnt going to ignore. Leaping high into the air on a blindside blitz, Ther'lat managed to stun Lil Snotter as he landed on him with both players going down. The Wraith scored to close the gap to Eagles 2 - 1 Bloodfist Clan.

With only 8 players able to take the field for the next kick off, the Eagles were hoping they could just hold on for the victory. Bloodfist Javath Rokdeth delivered a thumping blow to the head of Gil'Vain giving him a concussion and forcing him to miss the rest of the game as well as the next one and dropping the Eagles to 7 players on the pitch. Eagles #9 Dho'Las was able to scramble free from the line and run down on a fly pattern wide open. Not wanting to take a sack in his own endzone, Rua'Brar sprinted up the middle and let fly with a beautiful pass. Unfortunately none of the other Eagles players could get in Dho'Las area to offer some protection. The Wraith, playing saftey, was able to make a dodge and perform a devestating blitz sending Dho'Las to perform a complete somersault landing on his head!!!! Wow what a HIT!! Once again, Eagles #9 was being carried off the pitch having breathed his last breath as time expired on the game.

Services for Dho'Las will be held in the morning.

On an interesting side story, The Eagles have began interviewing new recruits to fill the vacancy left by Dho'Las immediately following the game. So far, none of the applicants are willing to sign on, citing a curse upon the team, or at least upon the #9 jersey which has played 2 games and both players have been killed. Frustrated, team captain Rua'Brar informed the coach that his team will play thier next match shorthanded.... by 2!!! Rua'Brar has also advised the coach to hire an apothacary before the next match, and that any new recruit will NOT be forced to wear #9 as a member of the Eagles in the hopes that this will bolster reruiting efforts.
