“The Mentalists were helped by a nice combination of luck and leaping. Their two handicaps were a ST+ for Mad Hettie and Doom and Gloom, halving the Killers 6 (6!) rerolls in the first half.

With the Wild Animal and Really Stupid rolls denting the Killers offense, the unsubtle "kick-deep-and-run-straight-at-the-ball-carrier" Dark Elf defense reaped dividents. Despite starting the game with a one (2+ dodge failed), the Har Ganeth team suffered lightly at the hands of Nuffle, and their coach's repeated hapless misclicks and mismoves (resulting in three accidental1dblocks and a -2dblock) went unpunished. The Mentalists finished the half 2-0 up.

The second half was slightly more balanced, and the Dark Elf strategy of blitzing out two Witch Elf receivers, then ignoring them and trundling the ball down one wing in a cage produced a turn 3 score - the third touchdown for the leaptastic Manic Mandae.

With Albator2001 keeping his thrower deep, Mandae and Mad Hettie were unable to reach him, and some better rolling let the Killers push the ball slowly through the middle of the pitch.

The Dark Elves did (eventually) prise it loose, but in the resulting scramble of failed leaps, dodges, blocks, fumbles and an interception, they were unable to shift it back downfield. The Pact had one final shot at pulling a score back, but the numerous tacklezones of the Mentalists meant that the Asylum held off the Killers for the 3-0 win.

An enjoyable game against a friendly coach, and another solid win for the Mentalists, with only a crowd-induced niggle for Rohan to complain about (I should just stop buying new blitzers). Your sarcrifice was not in vain Flaem.”
