“Ack. I waited too long to start my match report and now I don't remember how the game went. Bugger. They say the memory's the first thing to go. I must be getting old.
Thorazine has an unusual team. No big guys, lots of marauders and a +MA, pro GR. Not the typical pick for skills. Kind of cool. Despite his BOB and Chaos Warrior, I'd say I had a bit of a strength advantage with the Tree on my side. He served quite well, soaking up a lot of hits, lending a couple of assists and just generally being in the way. The best part was when I hit the GR on a fast break, sent the ball bouncing into the crowd and it landed right in front of the rooted tree. "Come and get it, boys!" Heh.
The second half was one excrutiatingly long drive (I can't even remember who was receiving! They say the memory's the first thing to go. I must be getting old.) and neither of us ended up scoring. I was close for a little time, but tenacious defense by the Marauders and a string of 1s by Joris Brak (I think he personally caused 3 consecutive turnovers in clutch plays on 2+ rolls) left me empty-handed. I had a slim shot at throwing long to my longbeard at the end of the game, but there was no way that was going to work. Fortunately I managed to keep him from slipping in to score at the end as well. He sure had me worried for a bit.
Thanks again for the game, thorazine_shuffle. They say the memory's the first thing to go. I must be getting old.
