“An excellent, fun game that really could have ended in 3-0 as well as in 1-1, had some dicerolls ended up a little, little differently.
At first my elves were not excactly behaving like elves; succeding dodgerolls and getting KO'd. Quite the other way around, really.
And the Chaos-dudes were getting KO'd. Three of them, but of course they all woke up after Ren's TD.
Well, can't see how I could have played differently. Some mistakes were made. Misclicks and the odd 'shit, I did not notice the TZ', but that's the way it usually is...
Thank you for the game, O Mighty Ren! I'll put you on my white-list. Anytime again!
““In the beginning there was a game, and the game was Blood Bowl . . .”
The Lords of Chaos were pleased with the opening match, a classic low TR encounter between no skills and many rerolls, and high Agility and one reroll. The Chaos were blessed with good luck throughout and, although the early Elven blocks struck home, KO-ing two beastmen, the misfortune (Pick-up? 1. Dodge? 1) of the Elvish ball-play (and many misclicked dodges) gave the Khornium the chance to drive solidly down one flank and score in the dying seconds.
In the second half, the Elven defence was strong. Despite a rapidly dwindling team (three injuries and numerous KOs) they held off the Chaos, forcing them to retreat and flee to the far side of the pitch to regroup. On turn 16 and with the score at 1-0 the Khornium went for the glory of a second TD, rather than the more sensible defensive caging that would have guaranteed victory. A 4+ handoff was needed but, comically, pass was selected instead. The resulting 1 square 4+, 4+ roll was not made, as the elves intercepted with a mighty roll of 8.
However, their own attempt to score was thwarted when they rolled a 1 on the very first dodge. And so the match finished, 1-0 to the Chaos.
A very enjoyable game against a very friendly coach, who somehow managed not to complain as the Beastmen made something in the region of twenty 3+ (sometimes 4+) dodges, only requiring one reroll in the process.
A rematch awaits, as do my other teams. As you said DonTomaso, anytime.”
